Sacred Words for A New Year

The Scriptures are full of new beginnings. The very message of the Gospel is intertwined with letting go of the past and embracing the new. As we enter 2018, I'd like to offer a few sacred passages to keep us strong in faith and brave of heart as we venture into this new year.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2Cor 5:17).

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland" (Is 43:19).
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jer 29:11).
" Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1Pt 1:3).
"Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lam 3:22-23).
" He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!' Then he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'" (Rev. 21:5).
